City has 'disastrous'
plan
To
the Editor:
The
following is an open letter to Rolling Hills Estates City Manager
Doug Prichard:
I am amazed
at your city's attitude in regard to the disastrous plan to build
condos in the Silver Spur/Deep Valley corridor. Some of your
officials say that they don't see that much opposition from RHE
citizens. Of course you won’t - the entire Peninsula Center area is
surrounded by Rancho Palos Verdes. We are looking nearly daily at
the monstrosity nearing completion next to the post office, and
shudder at the thought of several hundred more of these being built.
You sit on
mostly half-acre lots in the Palos Verdes Drive North area and are
promoting up to 20 times that density in an area that you have no
real involvement in except soaking up tax revenue.
Shame on you
and shame on RPV if they don’t fight this outrageous plan with every
legal means available.
Does anyone
remember why we all wanted to move here and why we created the
cities versus Los Angeles County?
