Rolling Hills Estates - No stamp of approval yet
City
Council members on Tuesday stopped short of approving a Rolling
Hills Estates Deep Valley streetscape plan, which aims to beautify
the corridor with amenities like new landscaping, benches and
streetlight poles.
Council did direct staff to proceed with the next level of design,
according to Assistant City Manager Sam Wise. “Now it’s time to
design with more specificity,” he said. “We’re essentially in
concurrence with the conceptual plan.”
Council considered forming yet another subcommittee that would
select specific benches, signs and the like. Staff will bring back a
recommendation about the subcommittee’s makeup at a future meeting.
“It’s probably best that we do that around a small table with a
subcommittee,” Wise said. “It’s moving forward, but there are still
a lot of decisions to be made.”
“They believe that we’ve got very good design guidelines,” said Andy
Clark, RHE community services director.
